When it debuted, Oasis of the Seas® won Best Cruise Ship — and now the Amplified game changer will set a new standard for making memories. There's also the option to pay up to $700 for one day with a private cabana-like "casita." The three-floor restaurant has a rotating menu with classics like crab cakes, New York strip steak, and cheesecake.

AN EPIC ODYSSEY CONTINUES – ROYAL CARIBBEAN WELCOMES BRAND-NEW SHIP

Beyond the first of its class, Oasis of the Seas® was also the ship that launched a vacation revolution. The cruise line has announced it's building the largest cruise ship ever — even bigger than its recently unveiled Wonder of the Seas, the current record-holder for world's largest cruise ship. The new Icon of the Seas will carry 7,600 passengers at maximum occupancy (or nearly 10,000 people when you account for the crew) when it first sets sail with guests Jan. 28, 2024. With an abundance of onboard cruise restaurants and fine dining experiences discover the top cruise foods aboard Wonder of the Seas for a vacation sensation. The world's new biggest cruise ship, Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas, debuts on Saturday

Also not yet sailing but available to book is Utopia of the Seas, the new Oasis Class vessel that will debut in July. Utopia of the Seas sailings through April 2025 are now open for bookings. Grandeur of the Seas was the original Vision Class vessel in the Royal Caribbean fleet, and it's the smallest of the series, too. In fact, it's the smallest ship in the entire Royal Caribbean fleet. Rhapsody of the Seas was the second vessel in Royal Caribbean's Vision Class of ships, which are the smallest ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet.

If you’re looking to plan an amazing family cruise vacation, the brand-new Odyssey of the Seas overflows with fun activities for kids and family-friendly entertainment. With a pool for every day of the week, Icon of the Seas makes it easy to maximize every sun-dappled moment onboard during the ultimate family vacation. The island’s capacity is predicted to increase by 3,000 guests following the completion of Hideaway Beach. As Utopia of the Seas is an Oasis Class ship, she will likely share a similar layout to other Oasis Class ships, offering venues and amenities like the AquaTheater, Central Park, Ultimate Abyss, and more. Like Icon of the Seas, Utopia of the Seas will be powered by LNG (liquefied natural gas), the first Oasis Class ship to do so. By using LNG power and the addition of further environmentally friendly applications onboard, Utopia of the Seas will reduce emissions and boost its energy efficiency. Icon of the Seas will be the first ship in Royal Caribbean’s Icon Class, and will be followed by two additional Icon Class ships. The ship will be powered by LNG (liquified natural gas) and include environmentally friendly applications that will reduce carbon footprint.

Royal Caribbean's older ships are a half to a third smaller and lack many of the above features. They have a much more intimate feel, at least in the pantheon of relatively big, mass-market ships, and they hold far fewer people. While Icon Class and Oasis Class ships can hold more than 6,600 passengers with every berth full, the line's four oldest vessels (known as the Vision Class) are only designed to carry about 2,000 passengers at double occupancy.

And hold off on your Instagram photo dumps until after your vacation.

At the time of writing, the lowest advertised fare on Royal Caribbean's website for a cruise onboard Icon in 2024 starts at $3,005 per person for an interior room for the March 23 sailing. Nearly every sailing will visit Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean's private island in The Bahamas. The May 5, 2025 cruise will sail to Labadee, Haiti instead of CocoCay.

Wonder of the Seas® brings even bigger adventures to the award-winning Oasis Class. A totally redesigned pool deck with more ways to soak up the sun —or shade —than ever before. The most immersive AquaTheater ever, with a game-changing surround-stage that makes you feel part of the action. Utopia of the Seas enters service on July 22, 2024 and will offer short cruises, the first time an Oasis Class ship will start cruising with just weekend sailings. It's part of a new strategy by Royal Caribbean to target first-time cruisers and families. Icon of the Seas will be 250,800 tons and hold up to 7,600 passengers, both of which are stats that eclipse the current largest cruise ship, Wonder of the Seas.

Instead of a place to take your kids, Surfside is meant to be enjoyed alongside your kids. Photos simply do not do the AquaDome justice, because it is truly massive. It was no simple feat to hoist it into position, as the team in Turku had to use 1,600 feet of cables to lift it into position. The length of cables is longer than the height of the Empire State Building.

Ships like Allure of the Seas, which was due for amplification in 2020, do not have any enhancements scheduled. Royal Caribbean Blog is offering a Panama Canal group cruise from March 16-24, 2024 for those interested in sailing around the Southern Caribbean and Panama Canal. The beach is located to the west of the island’s pier, adjacent to CocoCay’s Thrill Waterpark. The western side of the island is still undeveloped aside from storage and housing for some crew members, so this is the first project to expand Perfect Day at CocoCay on that side of the island. Hideaway Beach, an adults-only area of Perfect Day at CocoCay, is currently under construction and set to open in late 2023.

Newer Royal Caribbean ships generally are bigger than older Royal Caribbean ships — sometimes much bigger. As a result, they have room for many more onboard venues and attractions than the line's older vessels. The bigger passenger capacity of Icon of the Seas is in part due to the ship's greater focus on family travelers. Icon of the Seas is being built with more cabins that have plenty of extra bunks to accommodate families with children. It'll also have more amenities geared to families, including a new-for-the-line outdoor "neighborhood" called Surfside dedicated to families with young children. As noted above, it is just debuting in January, with its first sailing with paying passengers scheduled for Jan. 27.

You’ll also find delicious dining to please even the pickiest eaters and crave-worthy cocktails that always raise the bar. When the sun goes down, grown-ups have plenty of ways to light up the night with spirited sing-alongs at Schooner Bar, late-night jam sessions at Music Hall, and immersive, tech-infused entertainment at the transformative Two70®. Sailing from sunny Fort Lauderdale, Odyssey of the Seas℠ unlocks captivating shores across eastern, western and southern Caribbean isles like Jamaica, exotic Aruba and Perfect Day at CocoCay.

With the new Water’s Edge Pool and Splashaway Bay aquapark, Adventure Ocean, and the teen space Social 020, Surfside will be an all-day family hangout. One thing Royal Caribbean wanted to change with the Royal Promenade was provide more ocean views. Guests will find more windows than ever before in this neighborhood. The original gamechanger is running up the score again — loaded with all new adventures in the biggest Royal Amplified reimagining ever.

At the time the class began rolling out, the vessels were around 40% bigger than the next-biggest cruise ships, and they have continued to be the biggest and most amenity-laden ships in the world ever since. As one of the largest cruise ships, the Oasis of the Seas offers an abundance of free onboard cruise experiences and attractions for everyone on vacation. From endless onboard thrills to gourmet globetrotting and top-notch shows, Wonder of the Seas® surprises with thrills and wow-worthy experiences at every turn.
